CFCAS project Assessment of Water Resources Risk and. ABSTRACT: This study aims to compare the performance of two hydrological models, conceptual (HEC-HMS) and spatial (ATHYS) on the Aguibat Ezziar watershed. The comparative analysis is based on the performances of simulation in terms of Nash-Sutcliffe and RSR. Several River Basins across the world have been simulated using hydrological models to understand hydrological processes and the availability of water resource. Some of these basins are ungauged. 23.05.2019В В· Managing storm water under climate uncertainty is a major concern in urban areas throughout the world. There were several floods events recorded in Chennai, a one of the major metropolitan coastal

Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS), a rainfall-runoff simulation model, was used to simulate peak river discharge values for current and future conditions. The model was calibrated and validated based on the observed river discharge data from February 2007 and January 1996, respectively. The statistical analysis showed that the performance of the model is satisfactory, with Nash–Sutcliffe
The HEC-HMS model simulates rainfall-runoff processes in a dendritic (single outlet) watershed. The model simulates the individual fluxes of the hydrologic cycle, such as snow-melt, infiltration, evapotranspiration, base flow, and channel routing. The model is applicable to a number of analyses, such as flood studies, reservoir spillway design Feldman AD (2000) Hydrologic modeling system-HEC-HMS-technical reference manual. This study proposed a framework combining the Hydrologic Engineering Center’s Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS) and the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) general circulation models to assess the impact of climate change on flood events. HEC-HMS is one of the most commonly used hydrologic models in the USA, and CMIP5 HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center – Hydrologic Modeling System) model was developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers (Feldman, 2000) that could be used for many hydrological simulations. The HEC-HMS model can be applied to analyze urban flooding, flood frequency, flood warning system planning, reservoir spillway capacity, stream restoration, etc. ( U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 2008 ).
